My understanding is the factory installed hitch on my 2002 Dodge Caravan SE (3.3, V6) is a Class II.

I'm looking to get a Cargo Carrier w/ ramp for my large snow blower. However the carrier wants a 2" receiver Class III/IV hitch. Can my existing hitch be easily removed and upgraded to something like this?

Can you look at yours and see if its bolted on or welded on? If it's welded then it can't be easily removed.

 

Here are photos of my existing hitch. The existing Hidden Hitch 90717 has a different shape from the Class III hitch shown in my original post above. In my photos below you can see the existing hitch only uses 2 bolts per side. I dont see an extra bolt hole for the Class III hitch but i do see some bolt already screwed in. To be clear that is where the extra bolt would go for the Class III, only i need to remove that existing bolt covering the hole?
