light command switch shorted Circuit - Grand Caravan LX 3.8

This is my first post.
I want to take a doubt, have a Grand Caravan 2000 and the light command switch shorted. Now I need to buy a new piece and found that there are two types of piece, one with the code with the end 1K and the other end with 1G.
The pieces are visually identical but I bought a 1G and the mechanic said it did not work.
Anyone know if it really is the difference?
