08 3.8l ,Wife went to get the kids from school everything was fine. Started the van at the school and as soon as it started it was running rough. Drove it home 2 miles. When I looked at it checked all the basics pulled plugs and 5 was black and dry. New plug cranked it and it was rough. Compression test on 5 showed NO compresson. Pulling the head is obviously my next step but where do I go from there. Good with a wrench but never really did any engine work.

 

If everything was going well the way you described, and you take care of your van. It kinda sounds like coil pack. Just throwin it out there to save ya some work if you hadn't considered it.
