[3rd Gen : 96-00]: 99 grand caravan le 3.8l: Water pump
Hi All,
my grand caravan is blowing cool air only when asking for hat. I was told that my water pump is faulty ( it does appear to be leaking). However, I am able to drive the vehicle with stable temp. It is not over heating. Is it possible that my water pump can cause the "no heat problem" and yet still maintain proper engine temp? By the way, my heater core is not clogged, I did a back-flush to verify. Thanks.

Doubt it. A failed water pump means less circulation and HIGHER coolant temps and as you said, it's not overheating.
More likely a problem with the mode door in the HVAC assembly under the dash. It determines the temp of the air allowed into the van. You'll find it on the driver's side of the HVAC assembly about in line with the left side of the climate control panel. Remove the lower trim panel under the steering column then try observing it as you change temp settings.
