[3rd Gen : 96-00]: Inner Tie Rod Blue Spacer?????
Hi guys....
I have a 2000 Dodge Caravan. I replaced the inner and outer tie rods. I noticed after I finished one side 1/2 of the remainder of a blue plastic spacer that attached to the end of the inner tie rod where it attaches to the rack. Not sure of its purpose. Some repair videos show this spacer and some don't. One thread said the spacer is not needed. I have tried many web sites and Advanced Auto, Auto Zone and O'Reilly's Auto and no one knows what this is. The instructions Mood included in the new inner tie rod mention the spacer but nothing more. Do I need this blue spacer? Car has 130 grand and works well. Thanks.

This is in order to keep you from turning the wheel so sharp that the tires rub up against your car!
There is a video on youtube by "ChrisFix" about increasing your steering angle that explains it very well.
