I just bought a 2006 dodge caravan and on the liftgate i have to use the key to open it. There is no handle to open the liftgate just with only using the key. Is this normal and can I put a handle on it to make it easier to open?

There is a solid plate where it looks as though a handle should be. It looks stock with out the handle
