Default Synthetic oil reduced engine noise and improved performance

I am not a mechanic or an expert in cars. I just wanted to contribute some info I just learned and experience too. I was using regular 5-30 motor oil with fram filters. A couple of years ago I switch to a much thicker oil, because the caravan had 130,000 miles and people recommend for cars with high miles. It now has 160,000 miles and the engine got noisier and I did not think anything of it, because of all the miles.

Recently, I decided to search for a way to reduce the noise. I found some info that advice to use synthetic oil, because it would move quicker to parts of the engine that needed it which the thicker oil would not. I decided to give it a try and bought synthetic blend 5-30 and a mobile 1 filter that cost $9, but it last 20,000 miles or a year whichever comes first. I did not know that there were filters like that. Also not all filters can be used for synthetic oil.

Not only will the filter keep the oil cleaner, synthetic oil last longer. Conclusion to this post, is that the engine performance improved and is much quieter. I know many experts in the forum know this, but I wanted to make a post for people with this same issue.

running syn oil is great but it does not extend the life of the oil. It should be changed at the same interval as conventional oil. For people running e85, oil change intervals should be more frequent due to the dilution of the oil from e85.

I have never used E85. Every gas station around here in Orlando, FL has just regular.
