Hello all

I'm on the road for work with my grand caravan 2009. I have a plastic Y that crac.(see the photo).

Curently is it a possibility to continu my run if I lose the radiator cap to the firt notch to make the water pump to be unable to put presure on the system and avoid the splash of prestone every where in the motor compartment. As you see on the photos I put high temp tape on the Y just to reduce the prestone splash in the motor compartment. The motor does not seem to overheat.

Here there's no garage near me.

repair this asap before it lets go and you overheat the engine. Its a time bomb. the only place i would drive this is to the nearest garage.

the danger of running with the system not pressurized is that it will over heat at normal operating temperature... pressure increases the boiling point of the coolant 3degrees for each psi of pressure.

 

I figure how to change that parts I think I only need a pair of pliers. Can somme tell the name or part numbers of that parts. And if I'm right to be able to change it that easy.

OK final I found the part. I was able to easily change it with a pair of plier. It take 10 minutes.

The tape i put was helping to block the prestone to spread every where. I run 20 minutes from hôtel to garage selling the part with the radiator cap lose to the first notch. When driving I verify the temperature of the motor with the heating système. I figure out if I have heat there is because enough coolant in the system and I can drive safe.

parts was only available with all the tubing from the dealer. 270$
