My 96 caravan will not start. I started it yesterday it idled for about 45 minutes when I turned the heat down, the van was not running anymore and it failed to restart. It turns over but nothing. The battery is fine and it is not a starter problem. could it be a fuel problem. The van had been tuned up so it's probably not a spark problem. Any sugestions.

 

i'm no mechanic but my 95 caravan did kind of the same thing.my gas gauge would be on full one minute then on empty the next.then one day it wouldn't start.tyr reaching under the van and banging on the gas tank with a rubber mallet or something not ot cause a spark.then try it.if this works then it most likely is your feul pump,which is in the gas tank.at least on my caravan it was.

Try it again after it cools off, maybe a camshaft or crankshaft sensor has gone bad.
