[5th Gen : 08+]: Spare Tire for 2017 Caravan
After having my 2017 Caravan for 3 month I've learned today that it doesn't have neither the spare tire nor the jack. It's really funny. The factory provides you with the "secret locks" for rims but even the wrench isn't included.
I'm an old-school guy and would feel more comfortable if I would have the spare tire underneath of my van. Just in case.
Guys, those who have the Caravan 2014 or earlier model (starting from 2008). What size exactly is the spare tire? I'm going to buy it on the scrap yard. It would be 20 times cheaper, then buying it at a dealership.

check the door placard on the drivers door...it may list the spare tire size.
the wheel lock key is not from the factory...the dealership put it on.
they have gone to tire in a can. just make sure the van has a tire storage winch. accessing the spare on these vehicle is insane. better include coveralls cause you gonna have to slide a bit under the van on the side of the road. use the jack tool to slide it out as far as possible to limit being under the van. the flat tire will make clearance small and no way will i slide under that van with that wobbly jack
for me, using the spare is a last resort. i would rather use tire in a can or my aaa membership and get a tow to a repair shop. spare tire changing on the side of a highway is dangerous. if you must, consider carrying an electric impact gun....you can use it to raise the jack and remove the lugs super fast.
