Default 1998 Plymouth Voyager Fuel Pump Problem

I have a 1998 Voyager; about 172,000 miles on the 3.0 liter motor; that is having fuel gauge issues.
This vehicle is getting to the end of it's life, only because the headliner is dropping and it is burning some oil but still manageable.
Plus, being in Michigan hasn't helped, the rust is really starting to take it's toll.

The problem is the fuel pump.
It is less than 2 years old and it appears to be working fine except the fuel level sending unit is junk.
Once the level is down below 3/4's of a tank it will drop out and then come back.
It will continue to do this causing the fuel level bell to ding each time.
By the time it is down to 1/2 a tank it will usually totally quit working by then.

So I'm looking for some input on what to replace it with.
I would like to keep below the $100 mark.
I'm hoping to be able to move past this vehicle sometime in the next 6 months but it's still needed until that time.

Thank you for any input you can offer.
