[4th Gen : 01-07]: 02 Caravan Ec 2.4 Overheating and Not Starting Issue
My Caravan has been losing water rapidly. When I go to put more in, the radiator cap is cold and there is no pressure. Tonight, I put in 2 gallons and within 15 minutes it was gone. I don't see any leakage on the ground and there is no water in the oil to indicate head gasket issue.
It sounded like it was going to throw a rod, it was bad. I let the van cool down more and surprisingly, it still turns over. I thought it might have seized up.
I put more water in it, tried to start it and the battery was to weak. After about 40 minutes, I was able to turn the motor but it won't start.
I was thinking timing belt but would appreciate more feedback. Where could the water be going.
Is the 2.4 an interference motor? Could it be leaking from the W/P and just dissipates from the heat of the engine?
Also, I have been able to start the van after I added water before but not tonight.
