I have a 99 caravan, 4 cyl, auto. I love this thing, it's been great to me, I totaled it once, rebuilt it, friend wrecked it, rebuilt it again. One day, I was parking, heard a pop, no reverse gear. No problem, I had to keep driving it, and drove it for a few months.
One day, sitting at an intersection, hit the gas, felt like the motor was straining against something, then a large Bang. Revs shot up, no more go. But it will now shift into reverse just fine.....weird. I backed it off the road and had it towed home, not knowing anything about transmissions(I'm a good mechanic, but have always stayed away from transmissions) Where do I start looking? I'd love to put it back on the road, it's doubled as a camper, tow vehicle for my motorcycle, parts hauler, lumber truck........the list goes on. I do need to put a new grill and hood and RF fender on it, again, Don't ask.....
