Hello,
I I recently purchased a used 2006 Dodge Caravan base model from a state vehicle auction. I have a 100 pound German Shepherd, so I wanted the van to transport him in. When I bought the van a few weeks ago, the check engine light was on. I just got around to taking the van for an oil change and over to AutoZone to have to check engine light code checked out. The salesman at AutoZone advised that it was the ambient temperature sensor and it was only 20 bucks for the part .

Needless to say I have the part, but I don't know how to install it. The salesman pointed out that the temperature sensor is in the grill. I was able to identify the sensor in the front of the van, but I'm wondering how do I get to it. Do I have to crawl under the vanvvan, remove the plastic piece on the back of the bumper? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

 

It was downpouring all day here again today, but I was able to quickly inspect it. It looks like the part is completely missing where it's supposed to be screwed into. I just don't see the electrical cord to plug into the part. But yeah I see the spot on the grill where I could snap the sensor into, just not the plug.
