Default 2017 Caravan GT - Watching movie files from usb drive

Hello,

I have a 2017 Caravan GT with the factory dvd player in it. The radio has a usb port. Is there anyway to hook up a usb thumb drive and have the radio see the files and play the movie files? If so, what format does the drive have to be (Fat 32, ntfs?), what format do the movies have to be (mp4, avi, mkv, etc?) and what resolution do the files have to be?

So far, I put a 64gb ntfs drive in and the dvd player didn't even see it was plugged in.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Eric

Have you checked the owners manual?

Two better options..
1, Get a mobile wi fi router and screen mirror and or cast from your phone. Ive heard people downloading movies on android from netflix at home to avoid data use and casting them.
2, Better but more expensive option is to get (there are a few options) but the most notable is a device called "My Gig Air. With this you get video/nav in motion . It includes wi fi, 4 corner camera ability. and lots and lots of options. It is plug and play and you could install it yourself.

Honestly, no I haven't. The dvd the dealership gave us is misplaced. I guess I can see if they have one online. I assumed the solution to my problem was a little more straight forward.

Thanks

It may tell you what file formats are supported. Here's the manual.

Thanks jkeaton,

I read thru the relevant parts of the manual. It looks like it really only supports mp3 / wma formats, no video formats. Seems like a waste but oh well.

Thanks for your help
