[5th Gen : 08+]: 2017 Grand Caravan sxt engine light code 0302
Bought it used Sept. 2017 at 29,000 miles. Now has 57,000 miles. I use it for my airport psngr transportation business..my only car. Have been getting oil changes regularly at Wal-Mart with full synthetic every 4,000 miles. Car has run beautifully till now.
About a week or so ago the engine light came on. Brought to my mechanic who said the code 0302 indicates a misfire in cylinder #2. He replaced all spark plugs and ignition coil for cylinder #2. Swapped fuel injectors for cylinder #2 and #6 (just to see if it made a difference). $348.00 parts and labor to this point.
A few days later the engine light is now back on with same 0302 code. Mechanic suggests it might be compression problem. He does not have the proper size fouler 'thingy' to do the compression test....ordered from Snap-On guy and will have it next week. Says if tests show it is a compression problem it may be an expensive fix? (over $1,000.00) yikes!
Anyone here have any experience with this problem? Could it be something else? Hopefully less expensive
By the way the car is running very smoothly....maybe a little skip at idle. My gas mileage is down from about 28 to 24 while highway driving.
Thanks for your time.

the mechanic is doing the correct tests. if it ends up being a mechanical problem; you should still have powertrain warranty to 60 000miles. Call the dealer, provide your vin and they can check and see if your covered. if you are covered, the dealer will have to perform there own testing to confirm the problem for warranty purposes.
