Default 09 Grand Caravan Grinding Noise Transmission

Opinions please! I had started noticing a grinding noise on and off on my 2009 GC. It has 195k miles. Brought into shop - diagnosis was transmission problem. Guy in a transmission shop calls me and says yes there is definitely a grinding noise, but he says it shifts fine and he wouldn't rebuild it until it gets really really loud. Really really loud seems fairly subjective - I felt it gotten really loud but then the noise disappeared the longer I drove (on highway).Once I stop it keeps coming back. Wash rinse repeat. Anyone had this on his Grand Caravan? Should I just wait or bite the bullet now? Any downside on just waiting until it gets really bad. I was hoping on another 50k miles before buying a new car.

By then it won't be rebuildable. Go somewhere else for a diagnosis. These guys sound like morons.
