I have a shudder when the trans is about to downshift most times(getting worse). If I give it some throttle it will go ahead and down shift with no problem. Just that moment in time when I'm on a grade and feeding in throttle slowly to maintain speed. Right before it should be downshifting it will shudder like it is deciding what to do. and like I said if I feed in throttle it will go ahead and make the shift to the lower gear. , Most times this occurs in top gear. If I lock it in 3 it seems to do better.downshifting from 3rd.if on a grade. when it is starting to lug is when it happens, it shudders a bit instead of making the down shift. any cheap ideas, I;'m broke

This identical shudder on a 97 caravan I had was a bad axel.... alas I already changed both axels and didn't help this time but it was the same kinda shudder
