Default Ok I really screwed up help..

So i really f'd up what should have been a simple shock absorber change is now my current nightmare.

I got the bottom bolt out piece of cake. Trying to get the top bolt out, I ended up stripped the nut. So I decided to remove the bracket that holds the shock absorber on.The 2 inside bolts came out fine. The 2 outside bolts both broke off. I've tried drilling them out but hours later I'm no where close. SO I"m giving up and I want to take to a local shop.

Here's my couple of questions?
Can I drive about 10 miles without a shock absorber on the rear driver side?
OR should I install the bracket back with just the 2 bolts and drive it in?
If they cant get the bolts out, do you think they can just weld the bracket in place?

Thanks!!!

By the way its a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan 4.0

> drive about 10 miles without a shock absorber

you have to make that decision yourself... in any case go when traffic is minimal and avoid the potholes!

would have to see the suspension set up. if the shock helps locate the axle...the answer is a definite no. you have a trailing arm, track bar?

Good point... if Bob had meant front, I assumed he would have been referring to a strut. .
