I have 2011 dodge grand caravan with 122,000 miles, yesterday I drove it in the morning with no issues,left the mall to go home noticed it was a bit sluggish on takeoff looked down and the tachometer was at 4000rpms,and it wouldn't shift .Got it to an inlaws house let it cool off, started it back up drove it up the street and it had shifted into 2nd but would not shift into 3rd ,Down shifted fine but would not go into 2nd .Was not in econ mode

 

How’s the transmission fluid?

 

no dip stick to check only a plug ,I've seen a hack on YouTube don't know how reliable that is is there an aftermarket dipstick?

 

Not that I know of. Probably need to take it to a transmission shop for a proper diagnosis.

 

Sounds like to me the transmission control module TCM. When it's bad you will get P0882. Trouble codes are very important, what codes did you get?
