FWIW, check your owners manual for recommended service intervals required by the manufacturer. Dealer will always try to sell you services at intervals less than the manufacturer recommends. Your vehicle though. Do what you want.

manufacturers, as a selling point, want their vehicles to be as maintenance free as possible. the life of a vehicle to them is when the warranty expires.
What I would do is....If you always trade in before powertrain expires...follow the olm.
if you keep your vehicle well past powertrain warranty; severe service interval is 6000. If you tow, idle excessively, use flex fuel, drive in hot climates...change at 6000
