I was told there is a sensor or something that controls the gas flow for when the weather changes. My van won't start when it's cold out side but if kept in a heated garage it starts on the first try. I'm not sure what the name of the part is. Any ideas??

 

Let's start with who told you that?

 

The mechanic that replaced my transmission. Not sure of he just said that to get extra cash out of me or what but it's been doing that since last year. The winter time I couldn't start it but come spring and summer no problems at all

 

Ok, now `define "won't start". Won't turn over or turns over and won't start? Has it always done this?

When I try to start to start it it acts like it wants to start but it won't start . I have to try 4-5 times before it starts and I know this is a big no but I have to give it gas at this point to try to start it . Like I said it only does it in the winter time. Summer time I have no problems at all. Fires up first try .
