I am dangerously close to pulling the trigger on a new 2019 SXT. Finding an SXT without the DVD player and with a spare tire is next to impossible so my dealer may let me order one. I can live with buying off the lot if it has the DVD. My question is, is it possible to order the spare tire assembly and install it DIY? Most of the in stock SXT's I see online have the DVD but no spare. Thanks.

 

After searching the interwebs, yes it is quite easy to install the spare tire and winch. The winch is available on Amazon and the tire kit on eBay. Problem solved. Now, to score a new van.

 

put a set of coveralls in your van. if you ever need to access the spare when you have a flat....it a dirty mess sliding under the floor to pull it out.
