Default P0302 cylinder #2 misfire

I've had this code twice in the last 6 months. I'm thinking about just replacing plugs, wires, and coils to just do it once and be done with it. 2015 with 63000 miles. My question is what's a ballpark figure I should expect to pay at a dealer? How much at a smaller local mechanic? I'm debating getting the parts and doing it myself. Just not sure how much it will save me. Thanks.

My 2015 is in the shop for this currently. They tested all the things you mentioned (plugs, coils, injectors) and replaced the lash adjister and roller finger follower per STAR case S1609000004, but it coded again after reassembly. More extensive work on the head now, yet to be totally diagnosed. Luckily, they said it may be under powertrain warranty, so I'd take it to a dealer if I were you.

Default Thanks for the info.

I checked and I have a 5 year 100k powertrain warranty. Hopefully plugs, coils etc are covered. I didnt see any exclusions from what I read. I guess I'll just take it to the dealer and hope for the best.

Interesting, the van having issues is a 2015 Town & Country with 100k powertrain coverage. I have a 2017 Grand Caravan and it only has a 5 year 60k powertrain warranty. Wonder why they lowered the mileage part of the warranty?

Default P0302 Cylinder #2 misfire

Took it to the dealer. $650 estimate to replace 6 plugs and only 1 coil. This issue is not covered under the powertrain warranty because the plugs and coils are considered "external engine parts." What a crock! I bought 6 plugs and 6 coils and spent 3 hours doing it myself. To top it all off, I found rust starting on both rear when wells. The dealer submitted a claim to see if Chrysler would cover under the corrosion warranty. Ridiculous to have these issues on a van I've had less that 4.5 years and only 63000 miles. The service tech said plugs and coils aren't due till 100k and to have issues now is rare. I feel screwed...

Default it's back!

2 weeks of no issues after replacing all 6 plugs and coils with new oem parts, the same code is back again. Cleared and came back again the next day. Back to the dealer it goes. I would assume that anything else causing this issue would be internal, this covered by the powertrain warranty. Wish me luck!

Of course I am having same issue a lot of Caravan owners have been dealing with for years. CEL 0302 Cylinder 2 missfire.. Changed plugs, changed coil, and CEL comes back on.. I have read a lot of threads where it is the valve lashing and rockers that is bad on that cylinder, of course, as usual, out of warranty. This happened at 75-78k miles, after my 60jk warranty expired. This seems to be a major issue with this vehicle from all the threads that I have read. 3 Caravan I have owned, most likely will be the last.
