Anyone with a 3.6L Pentastar V6 2011-2013 the oil bypass valve has been prone to break. Before when this happen you had no choice but to replace the whole oil filter assembly unit which was an expensive repair. Now thanks to the Motor City Mechanic and Dorman you can now purchase an oil bypass valve replacement kit which contain only the bypass valve an new spring assembly no tools required spring and by pass valve just pop in easy fix. If you to happen own one of these model years of 3.6L pentastar engine it would be wise to keep one kit in your glove box just in case while getting an oil change it breaks then your vehicle would be stuck till you get a new bypass valve unless willing to run your engine with unfiltered oil. The Dorman number 917-922 the price range from $25 -$35 depending from whom you buy it from most auto part stores might carry or can get it or you can order on line from Amazon.

Fortunately mine is still intact on my 2013 GC SXT Plus got my spare oil bypass valve kit in the glove box just in case.
