3.6 Pentastar - engine swap
Hi...brand new here...
Just had a nasty engine blow up. My 2012 Grand Caravan, 3.6 pentastar lost a roller rocker and broke the valve ! (front bank, center). Appears to be a common problem, with the "tick", that I must have ignored for too long - ouch!
I've got a handle on a used 2012 3.6, (80,000 kms) for around $1500, and a newer 2016 3.6 (23,000 kms) for around $1000. (yea...Canadian...)
Will the 2016 work in my 2012?
I understand the pentastar got an update in 2016, but I'm unsure that it was passed into the Grand Caravan's...and I prefer the lower mileage, lower cost of the newer engine
Any help would be appreciated.
