Default 2013 Crew Model: How to Add Automatic Headlight Capability

My daughter just got a used 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan Crew model with all options less the Safety Sphere package. It has auto climate control and auto dimming rear view mirror.

Is getting the automatic headlights as simple as removing the current headlight switch with one that has the AUTO selection on the dial? Or is it more complicated than that?

There's more to than just changing the headlight switch there has to be a sensor installed into the circuit to indicate when the lights should come on and off . I believe without the sensor in the circuit the automatic light switch will cause the lights to stay on all the time as long as the key is turned on.

There is a light (solar) sensor on the upper dashboard at the base and middle of the windshield. I’m assuming this sensor is for the automatic climate control.

Is there a separate light sensor for the automatic headlight feature? If so, where is this separate light sensor located?

The light sensors are located in the middle at the base of windshield after the defogger openings. Light sensors are smoke colored dome shape sticking up from the dash.

There's a raised flat cover that's in the middle of the windshield where the actual light sensor should be installed if it's not smoked colored and dome shape it's just the cover like on my GC.

I have that light sensor mentioned here - it is for the auto climate control. Besides a headlight switch with the "AUTO" position, is that is all that is needed to get automatic headlights operational?

Depends on the manufacturer where the specific sensors are located. Chrysler products look like the ones equipped with auto climate control the sensor at the base of the windshield is for the sunlight heat intensity. The headlight sensor is located on the back of the auto dimming rear view mirror providing that they ran wires from the sensor to the headlight switch. Remove the headlight switch and check for the sensor wires.
