Default Updating Uconnect Software on 2015 Caravan

Hello,

I want to update the software for Uconnect on my 2015 Caravan, but I'm not having any success. I checked the Uconnect website with my VIN and there is an update ... however, after downloading the .zip file and extracting it, this is what was contained within:

command (folder)
- command.sig
- command.tar

The instructions say that there should be a uconnect.upn file, but I don't have that.

When I try to update the software within my van after saying "system software update" the response is "please attach usb mass storage device with update file and try again" ...

Has anyone had success updating their Uconnect software on their 2015 Dodge Caravan?

Thank you!

I did an update on my 2013 GC with no problem whatsoever I just downloaded the update to my browser unzipped it copied to the usb stick which had at least 4GB checked content of flash drive after showed uconnect.upn file.. Started the van installed usb in the upper glove box compartment and followed instructions within 5-10 min update was complete.

I formatted my flash drive prior to copying the file.

It sounds like the van isn’t recognizing the flash drive. I don’t know if it makes a difference or not, but are you using a Mac or pc to download the update?

You could also try buying a new flash drive and see if that does it - maybe something is wrong with the one you’re using.

I think you have to unload the .tar file. Those are package files like a zip.
I rarely mess with them these days so I'm not sure if you need software to unload them or if Windows can open it like a folder.
A lot of add ons for the game Skyrim had .tar files and that was the last time I worked with one.

Then again the .tar file could be designed to be opened by the radio operating system. I have never messed with it. I can't get the damn bluetooth to stay connected, when I go around a corner it goes off like a wire is loose, but not often enough I can justify taking it in to be fixed.

I still haven’t been able to update it myself and got distracted by a Cylinder misfire which ended up being a cam shaft replacement...
