[5th Gen : 08+]: caravan AC issue cant be found
2014 Grand Caravan suddenly lost all coolness from AC. Compressor clutch is only staying engaged for about a second, cycling off, then back on again about 8 seconds later. repeats this constantly with AC on high and recirculation on. There's a pressure transducer, that when uplugged kills the fans and everything, but fans come right back on when its plugged back up so I dont see how it would be the issue for the compressor clutch. tested for continuity at the compressor wiring and it passed the test. Not sure where to go from here. AC is charged also.
The primary inputs for the compressor clutch are the high and low side pressure switches. The PCM and HVAC modules both monitor these inputs and expect to see a signal as soon as the clutch is commanded on. If either one is out of range or not generating a signal then the clutch is immediately commanded off to protect the compressor and other components.
Your description of the clutch activity indicates a pressure related problem. If the AC is properly charged, as you say it is, then it could be an issue with one of the switches. Unplug them one at a time and jumper them to see if the clutch will stay engaged for more than a second. If it does, the problem is isolated to that switch.
