I am about to be looking at some salvage/junkyards for a spare rim to put a new tire on. I am about to be going on a very long drive (3K miles ) and I want to carry a complete new tire on a rim for changing in case I have any trouble. My question is, are the rims different from a 2008 grand caravan vs 2013? Also are there different rims between the 2013 models where they will not fit my van? Just trying to make sure I know the info before I go hunting.

16 in tires rims 6.5j x 16 ET40

17 in tires rims 6.5j x17 ET40

Since 2013 GC models have HD brakes the important thing is the offset because of the bigger front caliber 40 mm of positive offset is needed for clearance.
