Default 2005 Grand Caravan Doors - interchangeable with other years, generations?

I have a 2005 Grand Caravan that has a badly dented driver side door and both sliding doors are badly rusted out. The local junk yard has a number of same-coloured Caravans that I'm thinking about buying replacement doors (driver's side - $65, sliding doors- $90 each, Canadian pricing).

My question - do I need the exact same year for the doors to fit my vehicle? Would a Caravan have the same doors as my Grand Caravan?

As we like to tell our 4 year old, “You have to be patient. Waiting is not easy.”

I don’t have an answer for you and I’m not sure a lot of people on these boards can easily answer it. Interchanging body parts can get tricky (sometimes even within the same year) and it takes time to research it. A sliding door especially will have several things that need to be considered before a match can be made.

I don’t know about the junkyards in your area, but the ones I’ve dealt with have software that tells them which parts are supposed to interchange with which years. Most of the time it’s accurate but like anything else, it’s not always right either. Did you ask them if they could tell you what’s interchangeable or just find out what they had available?

Thanks for responding! The junk yard has a person that just sells the parts and doesn't know a whole lot other than the pricing.

I wonder if I closely measure dimensions of the doors and match them up. I'm worried about the door panel mountings, I've noticed that some of the vans have different door panels...
