No ... but some serious scooping out with a rag ... went through a bunch of rags though

 

If the TB was that bad, the rest of the intake is probably nasty too. If you notice drivability problems again, particularly at idle, you should try induction cleaning the intake to help clean the carbon off the valves as well.

 

Yea good idea ... looking in behind throttle body once off ... it did look a bit grimy ...
