Default Help with 2013 axle nut torque cv joint replacement

I have a 2013 Grand Caravan we bought new in 2013. About 75k miles, it started clunking when taking off, putting into drive, and it downshifting when stopping. We took it in under warranty and they replaced the CV axle which fixed it. They replaced it with a remanufactured OEM and now we are at 150k and its doing the same thing. Well now we are out of warranty so I have to fix it myself.

It all looks straight forward and pretty simple. I am sure if I run into any problems I will be back here to ask

I have searched the forums, online, etc and I think I have most down pat. Except for the axle nut torque spec. I have seen 118, 140, 145, 160, 165, 180, 185 FT LBS.

The Timken bearing site says 118 for my year / 5th Gen ... I am not sure if the past generations are all getting jumbled together or what but, I just wanted to see if anyone here knew for sure. 118 to 185 is a big difference

120 ft/lbs
use a new hub nut its a one time use nut. the torque is critical as it tensions the wheel bearing.

So I got my big socket and breaker bar ready for a fight. Slide it on the nut about the 10 o'clock position ready to stand and bounce on it. Let go and it just hit the ground. Nut wasn't even that tight. The nut the Dodge place had on it wasn't but maybe 1mm bigger than the hole its self. The nut that came with the new axle was way bigger than the old one and had lots more mating surface to tighten to.

And thanks primem I got a good 120 FT LBS on it!
