96 Grand Voyager won't fire
Well here is the conclusion, after reading in other forums that guys had unsuccessfuly tried to install used pcm's in their vehicles, I determined that a new pcm was the way to go. My original pcm was dead for sure. So, I got it from the dealer at a $557.00 tag ( taxes included, that's canadian by the way). I went home and plugged it in and I was ready to jump up and down. However, the darn thing turned out to do the same thing the other pcm's were doing; Only generating spark in one coil. I was ready to explode, I had played all my marvels, I was almost going to call a tow truck to take it to the dealer. I remembered the used cam sensor I had installed I placed a paper spacer which I stuck to the sensor with oil. I thought it may be causing some interference so I pulled it out to check and sure enough the paper was intact ( the paper spacer is meant to disolve once the engine is running and create a certain gap so the pcm can read it). I reinserted the sensor and I made sure it went all the way in hard to do because of the o-ring it has and the limited amount of space to work on this sensor. Anyway, I cranked the engine and the dam thing finally fired. It took the pcm about 20 minutes to learn the engine ( I mean it was running smooth from the get go except if you turned it off it wouldn't start right back unless you pressed the gas pedal. It is running fine now.
