Default Back up Camera

I have a 2015 Grand Caravan. Had a Chrysler backup camera installed by the dealership soon after. Before I made the first payment, I was in an accident. Had it repaired by a dealership since we have a lifetime warranty on it. We don't want them blaming someone else for any issues. Well, they caught the camera cable between the rubber stopper and the plate and crushed part of it. It took it a while, but now it's not working right. Lines, blue screen, or fuzz. Of course, it's not their fault.

Bottom line....is it possible to repair their error myself?

If it's just a matter of unplugging a cable and plugging a new one back in, you could do it yourself, but I would check with the dealership to ensure this wont void the warranty. Why not jts have them fix it correctly if they are the ones that damaged it?

It took too long to find the problem. The repair was 3 1/2 years ago. They only crushed part of it so it worked fine for a long time. I really don't think I should have to pay them $700 again to fix it.

Oh. I misunderstood your "lifetime warranty" and blaming someone else for any issues.

Yes, that's the reason I only let the dealership touch it. The body shop guy was really rude about the whole thing. Treated me like a stupid girl. Tried to tell me I did it putting the yearly sticker on the plate. I sent an email off to the customer relations department to see if I get better treatment. I do refuse to give them another $700 for a new one though.

You said the famous magic word Lifetime Warranty why bother to mess with something that's covered. There's no time limitation on a lifetime warranty.

Hello! If you decide to reach out to the dealership for assistance with repairs, you're more than welcome to PM us for any additional support through the service process.
