Default With no Instrument Cluster Display - Oil Change Indicator?

2019 Grand Caravan SXT

Does not have the instrument cluster display with full menu and all.

Do I still have an oil change indicator, or do I need to depend on the mileage intervals in the manual?

Thanks for any info!

Thanks, jkeaton. I thought as much. All my google searches resulted in an implication that I have the feature, but the manual only mentions it in the section with the instrument cluster display. So, wasn’t sure. Your help is much appreciated.

When the oil life gets down to a certain % the dash will tell you, but on my 2018 SE Plus without the "trip computer" there is no way to know before the light comes on. That said I change every 5000 because it's easy to remember and I enjoy changing oil. You can tell if you have the "trip computer" by looking at the left side of your steering wheel, I have an up and down arrow where the "trip computer" vans have a left and right arrow as well.

If I understand you correctly you're asking if you have the base instrument cluster versus the premium instrument cluster in your model of Grand Caravan do you have an oil change indicator and the answer is YES.

Both the base and premium cluster will display the CHAngE OIL message The change message will flash in the instrument cluster odometer for approximately 12 seconds, after a single chime has sounded, to indicate the next scheduled oil change interval. The engine oil change indicator system is duty cycle-based, which means the engine oil change interval may fluctuate dependent upon your personal driving style.

The decision is entirely up to you which method you like best mileage based or oil change indicator under no circumstances should you oil go pass 10.000 miles or 16,000 km.

Ah.... okay. That’s what I was missing, oil life percentage. Thanks for the reply.

Thank you! You understand correctly, and that’s exactly the info I was looking for.
