Default 2015 radio staticy

out of the blue the radio acts like the channel is not coming in clearly. stereo lite comes and goes. have disconnected the battery trying to reset it. no help. kinda acts like a ground is not happy. ideas.

The radio comes out of the dash very easily. You pop off the plastic trim around it and then there are a few 1/4 or 5/16 head screws around it. Then slide it out and check the connection there.

If you mean that all audio is suddenly crackling you can ground the body of the radio with any nut/bolt going into the metal body and run a wire back into any nut/bolt touching the metal body of the inner dash. DO NOT TOUCH ANY YELLOW WIRES IN THE DASH, I don't believe air bag wires run through there but they are an expensive oops. Yellow wires to the radio aren't air bag wires just to be clear. Edit: sand metal surfaces a bit where you ground in case there is a corrosion coating that may insulate and reduce the effectiveness of the grounding.
