Default Battery draw

I have a 2008 t+c that has a better draw. I believe it’s the lift gate because everything else on van works as it should. If I unplug the wires to the lift gate motor will this take car of my draw? Don’t care if lift is only manual.

What’s going on with the lift gate that makes you think that’s the cause of the draw?

It would be easier to pull fuse J2 from the underhood fuse block- that’s the power supply for the lift gate module. That will remove power from all the motors and actuators.

When you use the automatic lift it only opens and goes about a foot and stops. If I take out the fuse then my back door will not latch.

That sounds more like a possible calibration or obstruction detection problem, so you can try unhooking the motor, but I suspect you’ll be doing it for nothing.

If you open the lift gate manually, will it close using the power function?

Do you have power folding/stowing seats? There was a service bulletin regarding the stow module staying awake and draining the battery - the fix is to update the module software. You should be able to call a dealer with your VIN and find out if the update has been done.
