[5th Gen : 08+]: Front Brake Squeak 2012 Grand Caravan
Guys, I've had a front squeak that has been annoying me for quite awhile now. I've checked the brakes and they are in good shape. I've even replaced the rotors and pads once, which solved the problem for the short term. But within a couple months it always comes back. My next option I guess would be a complete caliper replacement, but would love to hear thoughts before that. It only happens on light/normal braking. Push on the pedal a bit harder and it stops the squeak.
Thanks

Are you using ceramic pads? If so, the edges tend to be rough out of the box (regardless of manufacturer). They can chip off and the sharp edges act just like a squeal tab. Look for witness marks on the rotors to confirm.
If this is the case, sanding the edges of the pads and then cleaning them again before reinstalling should solve the problem. No need for replacement calipers unless they’re seizing.
