Code is "incorrect gear ratio 3rd and 4th gears. Changed fluid, no change, speedo and tach work so I don't believe it's the Output Sensor (familiar with that one from my Intrepid) could it be the input sensor? other?

It wouldn't be the input sensor you would have incorrect gear ratio 1st gear and fault imediately after shift. Sounds like the overdrive hub is broken inside the transmission so when it tries to shift into 3rd there is no 3rd because the hub is broken. 4th ratio error is in there because it probably was in 4th gear when the hub broke.

 

Darn! This does not sound like one of the easy fixes typical with this tranny unfortunately. Do you know, is this a fairly involved repair?

 

Its a very involved repair, the trans needs to be removed and disassembled. You could go in and replace just the hub, but since you are there it would be worth it just to go and overhaul the trans.
