[4th Gen : 01-07]: Maing a Camper Van - Dodge Grand Caravan Sport
Dodge CaravanThe Dodge Caravan is the best selling mini van from Dodge. How many Dodge Caravan owners here at DodgeForum.com would agree? Discuss it now!
Just thought I would share what I am doing to prepare living in my 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport again. I was living in it for about six months before COVID19 hit. I will keep updating thsi tread as I go along. I am losing my housing again so back in the van, but this time I am more prepared. The van was owned by a heavy smoker before me, and there was a leak from the back rear vent window, so the car smelled like mold old smoke. So I ripped out all the carpet from front to back. After I cleaned everything I put an ozone bomb in it and it worked great. I have some Jute I will lay down on the floor and then put some cheap carpet form Home Depot to put over that. I already have some vinyl plank flooring that I was using and that will probably go over under the bed frame.
But today I finished my sectional bed frame which is a major upgrade from sleeping on my cot. Proud of myself because I have to do this all with an illness.
I installed the Jute and Carpet this weekend. Came out pretty nice, all for about $100. The Jute cost $70 and the indoor/outdoor carpet cost $30 at Home Depot. I did not bother gluing it down. If I did it again I would have put down another layer of 27 oz jute or buy the 40 oz.
