[4th Gen : 01-07]: 2005 Caravan lift kit
I'm retired and like to travel/camp in my 2005 Dodge Caravan. So far I've been to NY state, IL, MT, CA, WA, ID, AZ, TX, NM, AK, BC and the Yukon. I really like everything about the car except that it's got really lousy front end ground clearance. I found a front end lift kit that'll give me about 1.75" more lift and I figure that combined with some 75/R15 tires for an additional 0.5" for a total front end lift of 2.25" and maybe, just maybe, I can venture down your average western state gravel road without having to constantly worry about having to turn back for fear of getting high-centered on your average gravel road ruts (and yes, it's happened to me more than once.
Before I invest $145 in the lift kit and even more for the larger diameter tires I'd really appreciate knowing if anyone's done this and what they feel about it. I just replaced the transaxle and will soon be replacing the drive-axles so if I'm going to do now seems to be a good time.
