During the past year of covid I hardly used my 2018 Grand Caravan SXT. It has only 19000 miles on it. Now attempting to use it, It remains stuck in low gear and will not shift. I tried resetting the computer by grounding the battery cables which turned the engine light off but did not solve the problem. Now after a few short miles the engine lite is back on. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated. I purchased a computer and 2 speed sensors but I think the computer has to be programmed. Can a regular mechanic do that???

 

Bring it to a reputable tranny shop they can reprogram the tranny to latest software update and check the shifting patern of your tranny the problem might be with the solenoid pack one stuck open of shut not allowing fluid pressures to reach it's limit and put you van in limb mode..

 

Can anyone tell me where the 2018 Caravan PCM is located??? Google is no help.
