[5th Gen : 08+]: Walmart H7 battery posts different in size!
Recently I bought a 2016 GC. The old Chrysler battery was replaced with a Walmart battery. I was surprised to find that the (-) post was smaller in diameter than the (+). I could not tighten the (-) post clamp. Initially I was going to use a battery post shim but learned shims could get loose occasionally. Some GC owners used solder with success. I had acid-core non-plumbing solder (high in lead content). I melted a piece of the solder to an elngated bead (to remove acid core), and hammered it thin. This trick worked well.
By the way, does OEM speaker have a paper cone? I know Chevys and Ford come with paper cone speakers. GC is my first Dodge. Cluthfield says the speaker depth is not sufficient for regular sized 6x9 and recommends 6.5" instead. What are your experiences?
Thank you.
