Does anyone know how I can hold it in place without the duct tape ? There were 2 bolts that held it in but the place where they went cracked. Also I am constantly replacing the liftgate struts. I'm careful raising the liftgate but the strut still breaks.

 

I would say go to the junkyard or EBAY and find a good decent used one without cracks to install. Remove the bulbs and hardware from the old housing and then throw it into the closest receptacle...

 

should be a white plastic clip that locks the headlamp in place. you can see it thru the fender liner access door.
