2012 Dodge Grand Caravan Fuel Pump Relay Bypass + Remote Start
I have a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan (I know, I know, I should have known better LOL).... We love the van, though... We are having the infamous Fuel Pump Relay problem. I have the bypass in place. It works, except remote start will not work. The main problem is; while cranking the engine, the power appears to cease for the fuel pump. So, you have to turn the key on, but NOT crank it yet... Leave the key on for about 3 to 5 seconds to prime the fuel pump, then crank it. Then it fires right up. However, the remote start does not pause and wait for fuel pump to prime. What I want to do is; connect the bypass relay to a different switch power source that does not lose power during the crank (starter cranking the engine). Right now, there is a relay installed as part of the bypass. But it only activates when the switch wire has power, which comes from the blower motor fuse. The Blower Motor stops spinning while the starter is cranking, which means that fuse loses power while cranking. Is there a fuse in the TIPM somewhere that does NOT lose power while cranking, and ALSO does NOT have power when the key is OFF? The main power source is the battery. But the switch wire that activates the relay is the blower motor fuse. So, when the key is on, the relay is activated. But since it loses power while cranking, the relay turns off.
