Hello, the fuel pump recently went out on my 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT with a 3.8L V6 and I had it towed to a local shop to have it replaced. Ever since then, when the vehicle is in Drive it has been stuck in what I believe to be 2nd gear and will not upshift. It is also throwing a P0700 code. The transmission had no issues prior to the fuel pump going out and I'm reasonably sure that the transmission fluid level is correct. Reverse, Neutral, and Park all still work correctly as well. My one concern is that when I jumped the fuel pump relay to confirm that that was the issue a wisp of smoke came out from within the fuse block, which makes me fear I may have fried something. Does anyone have any recommendations on things to check, or how to go about troubleshooting this? Any help would be appreciated.

 

Sounds like you may have fried the DIPM and will have to replace it. I would check further, but that is my opinion.

 

Maybe look up limp mode for trany, and check relays for trany and ASD in fuse block?
