My caravan starts and shuts off almost at once have checked fuel pressure at cranking speed changed computers replaced fuel regulator. Will stay running for a few seconds if pedal is pumped vigorously. What else should i check? It is a 4 cly. auto trans. help <IMG src=smileys/smiley19.gif border="0">

Maybe the Catalytic Convertor...Try turning the Van on and have a friend put their hand over the exhaust pipe, if nothing comes out (or very little air compared to the usual rush when a car is running) that's definately a problem.

Im a bit confused on your sentences. But Probably the fuel pump is screwed up because my moms b/f had the same problem sorta. Can you explain it alittle further? </P>

I had the exact same problem in one of my cars... it was the Calalytic Convertor then. I had to stay revving the engine to keep it running... and then I ended up dumping so much hot fuel into the Cat, it was glowing bright red... not good... LOL! I don't think it's the fuel pump... I'm sticking with the Cat...

Tryed cranking checking exhaust seems to have good pressure. Does air intake need to be hooked up for thi car to run?
