[5th Gen : 08+]: HVAC control panel and blender doors
This is for a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan, bought used in early 2022, with 100800ish miles.
1st it started off with 3 of the blender doors clicking or clacking randomly anytime the HVAC system was being used. Then winter came, I found out the driver side had no heat. I found the plug was disconnected from the driver side hot/cold blender actuator. And later found out it would randomly go to hot or cold no matter what it was set to, clicking randomly. I search google, found suggestions to; turn the key on, set the setting to this, then remove the appropriate fuse or disconnect the battery. None of that worked, still clicking and clattering from all parts of the car.
I did more googling, found suggestions of holding 2 of the control buttons in, then turn on the key, then when one of the lights start flashing, release this one and push another one. OR something to that effect. Now in that particular post, the display panel and the year model of the van was not the same, but the display panel was kinda close. Well, that made things worse, it still has all the random clicking, but now all the control lights will go off or maybe on randomly and air will blow randomly from one of the vents.
I know there are various troubleshooting features on cars, like the one mentioned above, but does anyone know the one for this particular van? Or can a dealer reprogram something?
Thank you.
