[5th Gen : 08+]: 2014 Grand Caravan blower motor electrical issue
My blower motor has been going in and out for a few weeks. The first time it happened I swapped the relays and it worked fine for a while. Now it sounds like it's trying to stay running.
Checking the power to the resistor it it at a steady 13v then it starts to stumble (for lack of a better term) down to single digits then to zero. After a few seconds back up to 13v.
Testing at the TIPM it is getting 13v at the fuse and actually spikes up a little maybe .5v when the fan stumbles and dies. I have swapped fuses with no change.
My best guess is that the harness or TIPM has a problem.
I do not have power seats but there is heavy gauge wire in the harness to under the driver's seat and the TIPM has the 40a fuse for the seats. I am considering snipping the wire under the seat and rerouting it under the dash to the blower resistor. Basically this would make the seat circuit now the fan circuit, or at least that's my intention.
I would prefer not to replace the TIPM unless absolutely necessary.
Thanks for looking, any feedback is appreciated.
